Default Extracting a WAV file from a CD

I want to extract a WAV file from a CD so I can import it into Sonar.
I have Sonar X1 Producer and Nero Essentials.
Is this possible in either of these applications, or do I need
something else?

If I need another app, can you recommend something (preferably free).

Thanks!
Jonathan

Nevermind...
I just discovered you can do it in Sonar.

Thanks,

Some versions of Nero have an "Audio Rip" feature. You will have to
look to see if yours does. Consult its Help file for details.

I don't know if Sonar has that capability.

Reaper can rip audio from CDs. So can iTunes and Windows Media Player.
I prefer EAC (Exact Audio Copy).

Both should be able to do that.

Wingows Media Player can rip CDs, go to the settings before and change to
WAV/lossless . default is some WMA format.

Otherwise, http://exactaudiocopy.de/ or the good old "CDex" freeware

http://sourceforge.net/projects/cdex...ta%204%202009/

will do the job.

Just goes to show how far behind I am - I'm still using the 2005
vintage Sonar 5, which won't rip CDs.

That's OK. I've used Sonar 2XL for many years with Sound Forge as an
external editor in the tools menu

2nd for CDex, been using it for years and it's fine. Also use it for MP3
conversion for the website.
