Looks pretty good! I've never even tried to do temp monitors or
anything like that before because I'm largely ignorant when it comes to anything with chips, ic's, etc, so much respect on that. I am very familiar with Jettas and made a box for my old Jetta (before the red one) that looked very much like that, so needless to say I am a big fan of that type of box. I also like the stock-like look. How do the square ports sound? Never tried those before... As far as brand goes, I'm not really one for JBL, but it's what *you* like that matters. Your wheels look much better than the ones on my 97 Jetta GT - blech! -Eric Mister.Lull wrote: Bateman, I've got respect for your work, so I have to ask what you think of mine... http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2367650 Tell me what you think... ~Mister.Lull Eric Bateman wrote: I loved that setup. Surprisingly enough, the sub had enough output for pretty much all types of music except for classical. I listen to mostly rock with the bass a hair softer than most people like, but it kept up well. Unfortunately, I had to get rid of the car to make room for the 540i wagon. I'm going to run pretty much the same setup, but I'm changing to Genesis Profile amps (tube amps WAY too big). I'm also going with a Dynaudio woofer in a sealed box because the AVI won't fit where I want it. Not having any free time in the last year is driving me nuts, because the stereo in the BMW is absolutely horrible by any standard. You can get to see the progress, assuming there is any, by following the link on my page. Thanks for the nice comments, much appreciated. Thanks!!!!!
I'm glad you like my work!! To be perfectly honest the square ports don't sound any different from round ports. There might be some sound difference when one gets more wattage in their system, but I doubt it. From my perspective they were only different from PVC pipe in that they were more of a pain in the butt to line up and paint... I love the wheels too, but cannot take any credit for them - they came with the car when I bought it. Thank you again! ~Mister.Lull Eric Bateman wrote: Looks pretty good! Heh, thankfully I can't take the credit for my GT wheels, either. "They
came with the car" is your reason, but my excuse! :-) How long have you guys been installing? I started at 16 on my own car and started with side jobs at 17. At ~21 I installed professionally for a bit under three years. (Hence the tube amps and Dyn setup - employee purchase deals!) -Eric Mister.Lull wrote: Thanks!!!!! I'm glad you like my work!! Heh, depends on what you would count...
If you count my first car - where I threw two house speakers (towers and all) in the trunk of my '82 Ford Fairmont, and wired up my first aftermarket tape deck - then I've been installing for about 10 years. If you count only from your first decent* installation, I've probably only been doing this for around 5 years... ~Mister.Lull *My definition of decent in this case = using only stereo equipment designed for vehicles, and not having wires running all over hell and back (visibly).
