Default Denon 3806 and Energy 8.2 subwoofer problem.

Hope someone can help. Recently purchased Denon 3806 receiver. In
trying to hook up my Energy 8.2 subwoofer get no output from speaker.
Problem is that the subwoofer circuitry turns on when sensing a signal
and i am not able to manually leave subwoofer on. Therefore I can not
use the audessey system to tune the speakers to a desired listening
position and manual setting still leaves subwoofer off the circuit or
at least when music is played no light on signyfying subwoofer is on.

No matter what setting entered in the receiver still no boom boom or
lit light signifying subwoofer amp is powered up. Thinking it has to do
with not sensing becuase the subwoofer has a system when no signal it
turns off. Yes the jack is plugged into (single rca jack) the receiver
and subwoofer properly and subwoofer works wonderfully with my old
sony, just not able to make it work on my new denon 3806. Me thinks it
has to do with the sensing properties of the receiver coupled with this
brand of subwoofer.

Any ideas? TIA

Many receivers have to be "told" that a subwoofer is in use through the
set-ups, onscreen or otherwise. May be an issue of setting the crossover
frequency. When in doubt consult the owners manual, though information like
this is often pretty well buried.

You can search a PDF owners manual for a text string, that can sometimes
help find something...
