Cutting stereo in two
Hi there,
I have a short audio file in stereo with some cracks coming from my left speaker when I play it. I'd like to cut the right channel out so that I hear only the clear sound. It would be mono (right?), but I don' care. I even installed Audacity, but cannot handle the case on my own. Please advise! KJ |

With audacity, by clicking on the track name (where there's a little black down arrow) you get a menu: select "split stereo track". Then you can remove the unwanted channel (with the "X" button). Now you have a mono wave file. If you want to duplicate this channel into a "stereo" file: tracks- add new-audio track, then copy all from the first channel and paste on the new added one. Finally, from the first channel menu, select "make stereo track". Done. Please advise! KJ HTH Ciao -- Emiliano Grilli Linux user #209089 http://www.emillo.net |
