Default Cutting stereo in two

Hi there,

I have a short audio file in stereo with some cracks coming from my
left speaker when I play it. I'd like to cut the right channel out so
that I hear only the clear sound. It would be mono (right?), but I
don' care. I even installed Audacity, but cannot handle the case on my
own.

Please advise!

KJ

With audacity, by clicking on the track name (where there's a little
black down arrow) you get a menu: select "split stereo track". Then
you can remove the unwanted channel (with the "X" button). Now you
have a mono wave file.
If you want to duplicate this channel into a "stereo" file: tracks-
add new-audio track, then copy all from the first channel and paste

on the new added one. Finally, from the first channel menu, select
"make stereo track". Done.

Please advise!
