6AQ5 is its equivalent
7189 is a higher voltage replacement
The Russian 6P14-EV is an inexpensive 7189

A lot of old amps that were designed around EL84s pushed them to their
limits. The current EL34 replacements aren't as hardy as the NOS. Check the
plate voltage and / or calculate the plate current to be sure.

if you have a look at a 6M5 it could work
but pins 1 and 9 are reversed to the EL84
i once did this on a old pa amp and it worked
the amp i did this on is 10watts
