Default Heiligenkreuz Chant Music - overdriven audio

Hello
I bought the mp3 (320kBit/sec) pieces of the CD volume
Cistercian Monks of Stift Heiligenkreuz Chant Music For Paradise EU Version
1-29

If I hear the records,
I feel that the audio is overdriven.
I use the Logitech Z-4 2.1 Speaker System with my PC.

How to manipulate the audio that overdriving is not noticed?

Thank you
Erhy

First, are you sure that the problem isn't just conversion artifacts in
the mp3?

Second, convert the audio from .mp3 to .wav, then open the .wav file in
your favourite audio program and check for clipped peaks.

If there are clipped peaks, then speak to the supplier, as there is no
cost effective way to clean this one up. There are programs that will
restore clipped peaks, but they probably won't be cost effective for one
minor project.

If there are no clipped peaks, then check that the gain setting in the
metadata of the mp3 is set for unity, with no boosts, then check through
your chain to see where the distortion enters the signal.

If all else fails, then playing with the equalisation may make things
sound a little better.

First you need to determine whether it is the audio in the recording that is
overdriven or the playback of it. People seem to toss 10 dB of digital gain
in everywhere in player-software so that it has to be turned down quite low
so as to not produce a clipped waveform from clean audio.

Thank you
Erhy

Kind regards

You are right Larsen, minus 2 dB was enough that now the sound is alright.
I used the Audacity software for.
