Subject: Recording the Ivory-Billed Woodpecker

"There's currently a search going on for the, thought to be
extinct, Ivory-Billed Woodpecker, ..... the largest Woodpecker in the
World, but hasn't been positively sighted since the 1930s.

One of the techniques they are using is to set up a recording system,
and later search the recordings for evidence of it's 'call'....."

Good news on a follow-up to this story. Although attempts to record the
bird were unsuccesful, there have been a number of confirmed sightings
of this magnificent bird that was long thought to be extinct.

Frank Gill, of the US National Audubon Society, added: "This is huge,
just huge. It is kind of like finding Elvis."
