Default REQ: Chevy Prizm OEM HU Pinout

Still looking for the 24-pin connector pinout of my 2001 Chevrolet Prizm LSi
OEM stereo HU. Mine is the AM/FM/CD version, Delco part number 30024333.
There were probably other versions of this radio too, such as
AM/FM/CD/Cassette and possibly one or more with CD changer control. Pinout of
any similar unit would be appreciated.

I need the pinout of the rear connector on the head unit. The connector is
rectangular with 24 small round pins in two rows of 12, one row being labeled
"A" 1-12 and the other row "B" 1-12. Using various sources I have about half
of the pins identified but there are 10 more that I have no info on. I'd like
to add ability to use an external AUX audio source if possible.

Other recent years of the Prizm may also use the same connector setup. Late
model Saturns appear to use the same connector but I don't know if the pinout
matches.

I prefer email replies but will check here too. See below to email me.

Default Chevy Prizm OEM HU Pinout

Actually...

The Chevy Prism is the SAME as a Toyota Corolla!

In my opinion, the GM front-drive cars all lack build-quality... That is,
except the Toyota-built cars like the Prizm and Matrix...

(I have owned several GM vehicles, both front- and rear-drive, as well as
three Toyotas.)

Thanks for your support. :-)
The only real differences between the Prizm and Corolla are cosmetic, mainly
cheaper interior appointments. I think Toyota audio uses different connectors
too, not sure.

Quality was a major criterion in my choice of a used car, and Toyota quality
(as verified in magazine reports) at a Chevy price appeared to make good
economic sense.

The Prizm seems a lot better so far in many ways than the 1986 Buick Century
it replaced (though I do miss the 3.8 liter V6 oomph already...) Man, that
thing ate a lot of motor & tranny mounts, not to mention transmissions!

Now if I could actually get this &*#$% pinout, maybe I can get the sound
system to my liking...

This is two years late, but I had the same question last week and finally found the answer this weekend. So, in case anyone else is looking for this...

The connector is a standard GM connector (one of many). I don't currently have the receiver in front of me, but I do have a wire harness connector, but I'm not sure which direction the pins are labeled.

If you consider the following crude ascii drawing of the connector:

.......#...........................#
A X X X X X........X X X X
...1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 1 2
B X X X X X
.#.................................#

The only pins I have info for are the ones marked with an X above. The '#' represents tabs in the connector. That should give you the proper orientation.

A 1: Illumination
A 2: Right Front Speaker +
A 3: Right Front Speaker -
A 4: Left Rear Speaker -
A 5: Left Rear Speaker +
A 9: Positive Dimmer
A10: Amp Turn-on
A11: 12 Volt Ignition/Acc
A12: 12 Volt Battery/Memory

B 1: Chassis Ground
B 2: Right Rear Speaker +
B 3: Right Rear Speaker -
B 4: Left Front Speaker -
B 5: Left Front Speaker +
