Default Looking for a Car Alarm Installer in SE michigan

I'm looking to have an alarm installed on my Saturn, a lot of the shops
that I called around will not install a remote start on my manual
transmission and says it's illegal to bypass the clutch sensor, well
many of them don't relize that they make alarm/remote starts for manual
that does NOT bypass the Clutch sensor, the trans must be in neutral
before the car would start.

I have found an alarm that is made for a manual transmission that I
would like to have an alarm/remote start installed.
So if you are an installer in Southeast michigan, I'm looking for your
help. Please contact me: . Thanks!!

We install them all the time here in Buffalo - I wish I could help you
out, but I'm several hours from you.

I've got an AstroStart in my Pathfinder - works very nicely.
They are programmable, of course, but the way mine is currently
configured, I have to put the truck in neutral, pull the E-brake twice
to tell the remote starter that I'm good to go - and then when I turn
the truck off and remove the key, it stays running... at least until I
get out and the last door is closed, and the engine stalls. Now the
truck knows it's in neutral and will be safe to remote start.

It's not rocket science... what shops in your area did you call, that
don't offer remote starters for manual transmissions? Keep calling
around.

One caveat: Many, many many many many shops will NOT install a remote
starter that they don't sell.
Don't treat this as them trying to "stick it to you" to make a sale,
either...
There's a LOT of liability in doing remote starters. You can't imagine
the kind of scams people pull.
"My rear speaker was working fine before you installed the remote
starter!"
But it adds a whole extra dimension when you are talking about
installing questionable remote starters into people's cars... or even
known-reputable remote starters - after all, where did it come from -
is it a new unit? Something wrong with it?
If it catches fire in the car - is that the fault of the remote
starter, or the install?
Who do you think the customer is likely to come after?

Your best bet is probably going to be to locate a reputable installer,
and seeing if they do side work.
Be careful - you want/need a quality remote starter job, and there are
an unbelievable number of hacks out there - you don't want a hack
installing your quality remote starter, particularly if that involves
extra componentry that needs to be wired up properly, that they might
not be familiar with (ie. the manual transmission module ).

Another factor: bypasses, particularly for your Saturn.
You'll need one, first of all. Your key has a chip in it, and your
ignition system has a security system where if it doesn't
proximity-sense THAT particular key, it won't start.
If you (or your shady mechanic) made a hardware-story copy of your key,
it wouldn't start your car, even though it would turn the lock.
This obviously poses a problem for a remote starter, where you are
starting the car without -any- key, much less one of the two keys with
the chips that came with the car.
The solution is the bypass... and Saturns can occasionally be
tempermental, where they don't take the programming, for whatever
reason... and you don't want a poor install to leave you stranded
somewhere, with this security system tripped - because if that happens,
you can't start the car WITH the key, for more than 15 minutes, when
the system resets.

Be careful - very very careful. You need more than simple competence.
