Default Silica Valves

In my "weird & wonderful" department, I have some NT90 silica valves
(No, i'm NOT thinking of making an amp out of them) and much hunting
has revealed very little information about thease beasts.
Anyone out there got any data ?
cheers
Mike
(BTW these are about the size of a 212)

Wow. A mad scientist's dream! If I had something like that I'd build a
lighted showcase for it.

Cheers,
Fred

LOL! Well, since I don't actually have one of these, it would be a bit
presumptuous. But maybe Mike could use it! :-)

Some of the residents here might be wondering, "avatar? Avatar for
what?" Maybe it's a good time to refresh the good peoples' memory and
give the URL for that awesome Geek-zone forum? You know which one I mean.

Cheers,
Fred

You bet! ;-)

For tube lovers wishing to enjoy chat on a n00b-friendly forum board that
also has lots of expert support too, check the link in my signature and
go to "Forums".

Do they sound any good?

Personally, I like the handsome looks of a KT88, 300B, etc,
more than this "silica valve."

I have seen some handmade triodes made by some
japanese dude, complete with artworked ceramic bases,
which looked quite nice.

The cathode emission is the hardest thing to get right.

Patrick Turner.
