Why? Because we can. Because it annoys you, and because we don't like you.
And yes, I do, in all seriousness, mean that. You are the most pure form of everything I don't like. I might also suggest that that 30hz being projected for 3 blocks, does serve a purpose. Modern music isn't about the words, or hearing the instruments clearly. It's about the beat. If you stick the Bass and Trebel up quiet heavily, You can still clearly hear the beat. My next point, is that you can project 30hz sound waves for three blocks and still get balanced music, simply by having higher frequency up as well. The difference is, that higher frequencies will not carry well over a longer distance, as the sound wave dies off after a certain number of cycles. If the cycle is smaller (Higher frequency) Then obviously, it goes a shorter distance. I guess my real point is ... We don't like you. Go away. - Haioken |

(_104_) Well, that could be a problem. See, when I buy aftermarket mods for my cage or my bike, I tend to avoid multi-thousand dollar pieces of shiny metal that do nothing for performance. So if you honestly believe that you can catch up to any of the well-tuned performance machines that I drive/ride, please feel free to have a go. With any luck you'll find yourself in too-close-proximity to a diesel spill and end up painting the road a nice, shiny (albeit sticky) red. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that you're one of those disgruntled yuppie ****s who thinks that shiny metal and loud noises are the denoumement of Western Civ. That's cool. Whatever you have to do to abate the gnawing pain of a miserable marriage made tolerable only with liberal doses of budweiser and viagra. But don't sweat it too much when the 99% of the rest of road users find your bleating, whining pipes and ****-poor lane-splitting skills a little too much to bear. As for any suggestion that I go to a harley bar and make these statements, where I come from, bars that cater to men in leather have never ranked on my To Do list. Dash1Bravo |

What motivates chronic noise makers?
There's a time and place for everything. If you live on the strip, expect to
hear bass Saturday night. Young men are going to put money into their cars, whether it's under the hood or in the trunk. I personally believe that there's a difference between cranking it up Saturday night and Sunday morning, however. My stereo gets cranked up on the interstate, and turned down at intersections. In Norman Oklahoma, the noise ordinance is that anything that can be heard "more than 50 feet away" is illegal, and violators can be fined and even thrown in jail. I've never seen a Harley that I couldn't hear from 50 feet away, or a stock stereo, for that matter. "Tony Fernandes" wrote in message ... I myself think it's VERY inconsiderate to boom your stereo in a residential area...regardless of the time of day. Have I done it before? Yes...when I was 16. I'm 32 now and have a much nicer, louder system, but I try very hard not to disturb others with it. It's people like you guys that obviously don't care about anyone else but themselves that bring it upon yourselves when cities start creating car stereo ordinances. Then you moan and complain that the f-ing cops are out there harassing you. Believe me guys, even though you obviously outnumber myself and Enough Already on this board, it's not that way in real life. And as far as exhaust noise goes? Most states have laws regarding excessive noise in this regard. So for the person that posted that he's an American and has the right to do anything they want....get a clue & grow up. I personally have more tolerance than Enough Already for these sorts of noises, but just because I do doesn't mean others do as well. Have some respect. Tony -- What's more likely? That an all-powerful mysterious god created the universe and then decided not to give any proof of his existence? Or, that he simply doesn't exist at all? And that we created him so that we wouldn't have to feel so small and alone. -Eleanor Arroway, Contact |

more 0.02 cents... chicks wear skimpy clothes... for attention...yet they dont wanna be used for sex (well some of them dont wanna be used) Body builders get big muscles....for attention...yet the invention of the gun made big muscles obselete. Big steros...for attention... music sounds better at lower sound levels....well sometimes... but when you are in your car, and another cars bass note shakes your windows....you LOOK at the car doing it... there is some attention for him/her Expensive cars ... for attention... really, we should only use a vechile for groceries, and going to visit realtives etc etc ... we dont need an 100grand benz to do that ... but people want the attention. Harleys with no mufflers...for attention... People know that white trash, is annoying. So the white trash enjoy drawing attention to themselves...their bikes cant go fast, so they gotta do something...so loudness it is. people smoking... i dont see the reasoning behind getting cancer... People do alot of things for attetion. I dont see why you made your post demanding reasons for why people do what people do. If you want peace and quiet...i got news for you... you made a mistake and bought a house in the city. You belong on a farm or an acreage somewhere. The city is loud... full of all kinds of people. The world aint perfect, so either you can bitch and complain about it, write stupid postings in a car.audio newsgroup thinking your gonna find the answers to lifes problems... or you can simpley live and let live ... and if you dont like the way the people around you live... move somewhere else with no one else around. AND DONT think your gonna make a difference in the world by bitching and complaining...it aint gonna happen once again ... my 0.02 cents. I just cant stand people complaining about what other people do with their time. Its their life, let them live it. HECK by stocks in hearing aid companys...make some money off the car boomers |

I'll preface this with "if I were to buy a bike it wouldn't be a Harley."
That said, you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Go to a Harley shop or talk to someone who owns one (a Harley, that is). The only thing you said that was accurate is that some people call them hogs. Try to outrun one. Hell, try to out run a real hog (the four legged kind). If the rider feels like being bothered, you'll discover that you need a speedy vehicle to outrun one that doesn't want to be outrun. wrote in message ... Harley riders= White trash, they cant come to face the truth that their bikes run on world war 1 and 2 technology, thus they have SLOW motorcycles. Harleys are ****ing named after a pig... HOG. So i say, they like them loud, since they cant go fast, and attract the attention a motorcycle should....they might as well be loud. They cant go a day without people drawing attention to their mullets. I wish you could recycle trash. Car boomers: two options... option1 : Still in highschool. They enjoy their music, and think that ear damage isnt a factor. Option 2 : Done highschool, but cant find a way to grow up. or perhaps option 3 : They like loud music. just my 0.02cents |

Notice how they left out those un-annoying things like the BMW with the
car alarm going off at 2am for a few hours, or the lawn care crew that comes at 7am sharp on saturday to have the lawn *perfect* when they come back from the weekend retreat on sunday... I love the cell phone in the theater thing too. Or on the train home. Oh yeah, the car alarm. They can't park one second without etting it, giving out that annoying beep blop announcing to the world THEIR car is SO gosh darn important it's *protected* (personally, I love to kick the ones that yell at you to move away..). The all night party with their friends parking their SUVs all over the place are fun too. Hey, just because YOU want to leave YOUR driveway doesn't mean you can. Their H2's too important to be parked out of direct view of everyone... You want real annoyance, try living near a diesel train line. Thank god we don't have huge freights by me, just a passenger train every 2 hours. I'm 1 mile away through trees galore and can hear them. Or an airport. Nothing like a 747 buzzing your home at 2am. Or, life in general. So, if you want peace and quite, move to the middle of ****ing nowhere and live in a hole in the ground. You're in civilization. There's lots of people around. It's noisy. Get over it -- To email me, chage 'usermale' to 'usermail'. |

Ah jeez, why can't we all get along. Seriously, there are gonna be
people that do things to **** you off your entire life. *****ing about it on the internet isn't going to make it any better for you. Go smoke a joint and relax. All of you. I have a system in my car. It's not a great system and I plan to get a louder one (with a bunch more SQ, too) because sometimes I like bass I can feel. When I drive home from college down the interstate with my windows down (because it gets stuffy in a car even with good a/c) I turn my stereo up so I can hear it better. Whenever I pull into my neighborhood or into work, I turn my stereo down. Some people will be obnoxious about their music, but there's f*ck all you can do about it. Some people are dicks. Some people on both sides of this issue are dicks. I'm going to keep listening to my music loud when I want to. I'll stop at any intersection I want and bump my music because I'd rather not spend a whole lot of time fiddling with my stereo when I'm trying to drive and not run over dumb@sses who don't know how to drive. You know what? My car is loud, too. I don't have a fart can. I hate those. I do, however, happen to have a hole in my muffler that makes it sound like I have one. It bugs me, but do you know what I do? I turn the stereo up. Ooops. Does that **** you off? If you want to send me some cash to get a new muffler I'll let you paypal it to me. I don't trust you with my address. You seem worse than the kids who would slash someone's tires b/c they are ****ed about something stupid. Have I been angry with the way things were before, someone for doing something I don't agree with, or someone yelling at me? Yes. Have I ever slashed someone's tires, broken windows, etc? No. I think you need to put some more thought into your statements before you go generalizing what is more than a small group of kids. I don't have anything against Harleys either. I know a few people that ride them. They are great people and good parents with teenage kids. They are responsible riders, but their bikes are still loud. Do I hold that against them? No. Noise pollution is abundant today and trying to stop it by stopping a few people from making noise is futile. I know Harleys are slower than the crotch rockets that many people ride today (like my boss and his Ninja motorcycle). Those bikes are loud, too. They are faster, but that's not what everyone is after. I'm a speed freak, but everyone has different tastes. Harleys have a different feel from other bikes, and some people want to make their bike different and unique. You may argue that loud is not unique, but it's not solely about being loud. It's about setting up a bike to suit your tastes. It's the same with cars. I think that people who rice their cars and go all show with no go is pointless, but it's not my car so I don't try to change what other people want to do. So remember, everyone has different tastes. Some people are irresponsible, but that doesn't mean we all are. And sh!t happens so get over it. Stressing about it will only give you a heart attack. Now everyone go roll another joint and chill. -- InferiorWang ------------------------------------------------------------------------ CarAudioForum.com - Usenet Gateway w/over one million posts online!
