In the Recording section of 'Volume Control', I've selected 'Line', yet
when I use the blue line in jack, nothing is recorded with Cool Edit or
Wavelab. I had been able to record using the line input in the past
but it doesn't seem to be working any longer. I'm using a Creative
Soundblaster PCI128.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Check under Control Panel Sounds and Audio Devices. Select the "Audio" tab
and check that the soundblaster is the default recording device. (under Win
XP anyway...)

Hope, you have selected the option 'Volume Control' insted of "Recording
Source and Volume". In any music editing software like Fleximusic wave
editor in which you have the "Recording Source and Volume" button in wnich
you can opt the option "Line In" to get your work done.
