Default source for 70mm faders?

A client brought me a 1974 Speck mixer that he found at a garage sale. It's
pretty thrashed, but he's interested in having it rebuilt.

The faders are badly damaged and need to be replaced. They're 10k audio
taper, 8 mono, one stereo. Problem is that they are 70mm travel, with 4"
mounting centers. It's easy to find replacement 60mm and 100mm faders, but
70mm doesn't seem to be available any more. I can special-order P&G from
Dale Manquen for a bit over $100 each but that's more $ than the client
wants to put into it.

Do any of you know of a source for 70mm faders, with 4" mounting centers,
priced under $35 or so per fader?

I can probably machine some sort of bracket to adapt a 60mm fader, but
figured I'd ask here first.

Never seen 70mm. Oh hang on, it might have been a Euro size.

Usual travels are 30, 45, 60 and 100 mm as you probably already know. You do
mean the travel, not the slot size ?

What values? I _might_ have some 10K Duncan faders around, but they have
that odd Duncan mounting.

These are in fact Duncan faders, so if you've got Duncans they're probably
the right thing.

Value is 10kA.

I need 8 mono faders and one stereo fader. If you don't have that many, it
would be cool to have even just the stereo fader. Probably shouldn't mix &
match sizes on mono, though, might be confusing.

I may have some mono faders (log taper) left over from the spares kit from
a console I had years ago. I will look this week if I can get over to the
warehouse. I doubt I have eight and I have no stereo ones.

In the meantime, Duncan is still in business.... www.beiduncan.com has a
web site and you might try asking if they still make any of those things.
You could ask Vince at Speck too.

Thanks for the tip. When I last looked at their web site it didn't look
like they still made faders, but maybe I'll give them a call.

That blindingly obvious approach hadn't even occurred to me. Doh. Good
idea.

In the meanwhile, if you do find any this weekend, let me know. Thanks!

Vince says "Duncan has been out-of-business for 20 years and we don't have
any."

I'll still phone BEI to confirm.
