Recommendations on what is the best PC stereo speakers you can get for under $300?
I'm currently looking at the PROMEDIA GMX A-2.1 and the Edirol MA-20D. The promedia GMX
a-2.1 are supposed to be really good. The only thing that I wonder about is that they don't have digital input not even non optical digital. Also there is no mention of support for 96 or 192Khz support sample rate for DVD-A and future listening. Also does anyone know what would be the cheapest sound card that could do 192Khz with SPDIF optical out? The creative audigy cards don't seem to have optical out for some reason untill you get way up high in the price. Even the Edirol don't say they suppot 192Khz sample rate. Do any? Anything I should know about monitor speakers and If they won't have something that you get with more normal powered speakers solf for computers? I'm hoping to decide before christmas so if anyone could help THANKS. |

Check this one out: http://www.midiman.net/index.php?do=...041d8025a 955 aa6ae2db1c This card lacks the fairly gross high frequency IM problems that are clearly measurable in Creative Lab Audigy and Audigy-2 cards. The creative audigy cards don't seem to have optical out for some reason until you get way up high in the price. coax- optical converters are readily available for low prices. Here's one example of many: http://www.altex.com/product_info.ph...oducts_id=2411 Even the Edirol don't say they support 192Khz sample rate. Do any? Anything I should know about monitor speakers and If they won't have something that you get with more normal powered speakers sold for computers? I'd be a lot more worried about what the speakers sound like than whether they support uselessly-high sample rates like 192 KHz. |
