Default Alpine CVA-1004 & Laptop

Hi All,

well I finally got the CVA-1004 installed in my Fiero. I went with the
CVA-1004 since the monitor slides out and in saving me a lot of space.

I connected my Toshiba 5105-S701 to the CVA-1004 via the optical/TV out.
Most everything turned our as planned except for the video display on the
CVA-1004. If I play a DVD it displays it perfectly and with great video and
sound quality but if I'm just displaying the Desktop it is way too small to
be practical. I'll be getting my Earthmate GPS in about 3 days to see how
it will display from the laptop to the CVA-1004. If it turns out ok I will
consider myself to be 75% successful pending using voice commands via the
laptop to play songs and various other things. If voice doesn't work then I
need to be able to see the desktop.

I need to be able to send only portion of the desktop to the CVA-1004
monitor at a time and use the cursor to make it slide from one part to the
other. Like when using VGA and the desktop is set larger that the display.
I don't think I can do this because I'm using the TV out as opposed to the
Monitor out. I explored the Monitor out and could only find 15-pin to 3 RCA
cable (Red, Green, Blue). What I need is a 15-pin to 1 RCA (video) to put
into the CVA-1004.

The whole idea here is to avoid having the laptop in the passenger
compartment of the car.

Any suggestion will be much appreciated.

Thanks

try changing the resolution on the laptop.

this depends on your video hardware and software.
