Default ProTools/MIDI question:

Hi.

So, studio tech has been here - I do not remember how many times - and
the em effer is STILL not working right. Yeah it (D24/G4/2 standard
farms) records audio fine, but now there's a problem with MIDI.

I play chords and, every few seconds, it takes the system a few
miliseconds to "catch up" with a note: meaning that there is a random
delay sometimes in the software recognizing a note. It has nothing to
do with the particular note, the velocity or the number of notes being
played. This is really ANNOYING as I cannot use these sequences - too
many notes to fix over a performance.

This "delay" does not happen if I am not recording - only when I am in
record and trying to log a sequence.

ALSO, why the hell am I getting audio coming out through my speakers
but not the MIDI tracks I've recorded? The MIDI signals are going into
the 1622 (just like the audio) but only the audio is coming out of the
speakers.

Weird sh*t, but I'd expect nothng less from a system that's never EVER
worked as advertised.

Thanks for any help.
