Terms of Sale

--We DO NOT sell garage sale, Ebay, flea market, or pawn shop junk!

(Bull**** bull**** bull****.)

Our equipment is usually from the original owners.

(You have ****ed old people out of this stuff from the Quad Cities to
Little Rock.)

It is not modified, but in original condition. Repairs, if any, are
usually limited to one or two parts. Almost all the equipment we
acquire is 'excellent' to 'mint' when received. Because we are
collectors, we refuse to purchase equipment in 'poor' or 'fair'
condition. We also don't buy or sell poorly designed or 'cheap' audio
equipment. Sure, you may be able to find some of this equipment for
less, but ask yourself how much time, energy, and money you'll have to
spend to make it right. And who else offers a money back guarantee--no
questions asked--on equipment up to 60 years old?

--All equipment has been cleaned, all switches and tube sockets
lubricated, tubes (if any) tested or replaced, and all dial lights and
indicators are working. The unit has been thoroughly checked out
through listening tests. This process can take three hours for an
average piece of tube equipment. Do you really want to take the time to
do this?!

(It's a HOBBY you cocksucker David Dicks!)

--All items, EXCEPT SPEAKERS, come with a 10 day money back guarantee.
You are only responsible for shipping charges. Because of the time and
effort required to package speakers, and their fragile nature, we
cannot offer the return policy on these. However, we guarantee the
drivers in the enclosures. They can be returned within ten days for
repair or replacment.

Shipping

In the US, we usually use FEDEX Ground. However, for large or heavy
shipments--and for most speakers--we prefer to use BAX Global. For
international shipping we usually use the post office or BAX Global
(which has very low shipping rates). For larger shipments, we use
Carotrans International for ocean freight. Their rates are very low.

Methods of Payment

US Customers: We require payment in full with a sufficient amount added
for shipping charges. We can ship immediately upon receipt of Postal
Money Orders, bank checks, or Paypal. We will also accept personal
checks but will hold the equipment until the check clears. You can use
your credit card through Paypal. We cannot accept credit cards
directly.

Foreign Customers: We require payment in full with a sufficient amount
added for shipping charges. You can send a bank draft in US dollars
drawn on a US bank, International Postal Money Orders, use Bidpay or
Western Union, or use your credit card at Paypal (www.paypal.com--there
is a 4% charge for this). It is also possible to wire the funds
directly to our bank account for a $25 charge (what our bank charges
us). We cannot accept credit cards directly.

SUBWOOFERS

We have several HSU Research subwoofers that we have used to give demos
with our custom speaker designs. These have very little use and are in
'like new' condition with the original box and manual. If you're not
familiar with HSU Research, they offer the best 'true' subwoofers in
the world for the price. You would have to spend more than a couple of
thousand dollars to get this much performance from another company.
These models are round and look like end tables. The amplifier can be
placed next to your listening seat or with your other electronics.
These have all the performance you will ever need for home theater
and/or music.

What business is it of yours if a buyer and seller agree on a price in a
private transaction?

I sell stuff I work on, which you have never heard, but are quick to smear.

If David Dicks or whoever buys Brand X Tube amp for $100 from Papa Piroski's
Garage sale, invests $100 or more in tubes and capacitors, and spends 10
hours of his time (or his tech's time) doing a nice restoration, how is he
ripping off a buyer to charge him $500?

But, I have heard this stuff. I've heard all the garage sale amps, the
Dynacos, the Scotts, the Lafayettes, the Magnavoxes. if people want to
pay a few bucks for them to putz with fine, but to charge $500 for one
that has been diddled to someone who is not a tech and can't work on
themselves under the ageis it is quality audio, is a fraud of sorts.
There is no amount of effort that will make them good. You garage sale
spit-swappers are crapping up the market and destroying the collector
value, such as what little there is, of this stuff routinely by fitting
RCA jacks, putting in audiophile-ersatz caps and such, and whatnot and
selling it to people who get it and then are disgusted and throw it
away because they are yuppies with no life besides working 90 hours a
week to pay their credit card bills and third mortgage. Thisw is a
public forum and i will uphold the truth as i see it, right or wrong.

I'll publish if and when I am good and ready. I'm not insulting the
quality, I'm upholding and recommending it every chance I get. The
quality is out there but you have to be willing to quit ****ing with
garage sale trash and spend money on the good stuff so they can
comntinue to make it. If you manufacture new good stuff I will give it
my highest recommendation if the sale to build cost ratio is fair, and
the quality is good. Garage sale remerchanting is no kind of life. The
ollies have already bought the GOOD stuff up. Let's face it, you find a
Mac 275 at a garage sale, you aren't advertising it here, you are going
to put on a JAL jet ASAP. You are retailing the table scraps! Maybe you
persoanlly aren't, Jon, but the majority of you garagesalers are. You
all know who you are.

Sun Remarketing and Pre-Owned were the same goddamned thing. High
markup, pay nothing, sell obso **** at prices you could NEVER recoup.
Did you work for those guys?? They were selling Apple IIe's for $299
when you couldn't GIVE truckloads of them away. Doggystyling the
gullible will always be a profitable endeavor for someone. A lowlife
someone.

*** How can you make such a sweeping statement? SOME of the Dyna, Eico,
Lafayette, etc. amps sound darn good when properly reworked, and IMHO often
better than new audiophile amps costing many multiples of their prices.
Take the HF-87 for example. Or the Lafayette KT600.

*** But even the Scott 222D, which you panned in an earlier post, has a
delightful top end. Bass is for ****, so it is best used in a split system.
Or the Sansui 1000A, (which must have all coupling caps replaced). The FM
section of that piece, when properly aligned, is very sensitive and sounds a
boatload better than the XM Radio I just got for Xmas!

*** I'm not a big believer in paying 20X for an esoteric cap because I am
not convinced that I can hear the difference.

*** No, I don't think $500 for a nice tube amp or receiver is too much to
pay. To my damaged ears, a properly refurbished one usually beats the
modern SS stuff that I can afford or listen to in show rooms.

I'll publish if and when I am good and ready. I'm not insulting the

*** Do tell, who makes the good stuff, and why is it good??

If you manufacture new good stuff I will give it
my highest recommendation if the sale to build cost ratio is fair, and
the quality is good.

*** I do manufacture new stuff. Take a look at the custom chassis that I
designed for tube gear on my website at
www.yaegeraudio.com. My marginal
profit on this is about 20%. If you include the development costs, quality
control & other expenses, etc. I've yet to make a dime! (I know my site
sucks so don't waste oxygen on that topic). Or better yet, drop $119 down
and you can bitch all you like about it . . . . and I might even listen to
you.

*** I am "guilty" of promoting both kinds, and I usually do it in the same
venues (e.g. eBay or Audiogon). The Macs fetch what the market will bear
and so do the "scraps." It's a hobby for me, and sometimes I lose when a
piece doesn't fetch what it is "worth."

Sun Remarketing and Pre-Owned were the same goddamned thing. High

*** I didn't work FOR Preowned, but I certainly did a lot of business with
them. Yes, their prices were high, but their margins were not always as
high as you think (a sales rep would sometimes share their costs with me)
because they purchased much of it from Apple. The market conditions (i.e.
Apple's high price for service parts) made them a viable business, and if I
used their stuff, I was more likely to save a client money, too. So if I
can present the same repairs for less than other Apple Dealers and provide a
warranty that is twice as long on a repair, that is a GOOD thing, no??
