Default NAD T 743 Receiver Audio Setup Problem

Hi everyone, newbie here with a new sound system i am trying to set
up.

Right now i can't get any more than a faint audio sound from each of my
speakers. When i turn up the volume all the way i get a very faint
sound (it works.. but you can't hear it unless you get right up to the
speaker).

My setup is as follows to try a dvd:

NAD T 743 Receiver
NAD T 514 DVD Player
5 KEF KHT 2005.2 speakers + SUB (front l and r, center, 2 surround)

I have the dvd digitakl audio out connected to the optical 1 digital in
on the receiver

The front left, center, right and subwoofer are connected to the
respective inputs on the receiver.

Component video in and outputs are setup and working.

So i put in the dvd.... and i get very little (a faint sound) and only
if i turn it all the way up.

I ran a static speaker test from the reomte .... and i get the static
playback from all speakers... so they should be connected ok.

Not sutre what is wrong..... AUdio CD had same problem... very faint
audio.

ANy help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Darryl

according to info in the web the unit has "6 Digital Inputs, 4 Coaxial, 2
TOS Link freely assignable"

you may want to reread the "freely assignable" part of the manual
