Regardless of price, Bostons or Infiniti References?

Regardless of price, Bostons or Infiniti References?
Both of these manufacturers have a good solid reputation for quality
products. I have used several Boston speakers in the past including an ancient set of 767 6.5" coaxials as well as their Pro series separates. Both sounded good and performed well (although I did blow two of the 6.5" drivers in the Pro Series separates, I had bridged the four channels of a Soundstream Ref. 700 to produce two channels at 200 watts to drive my fronts, which was apparently too much for those speakers, but I digress). Speakers effect the SQ of a system (both home and car) more than any other component. Two similar sized/priced speakers can sound VERY different (unlike amplifiers, for instance, that basically all sound the same). Some speakers sound particularly good with some types of music, while not so good with other types. Also, what I think sounds good may be VERY different than what you think sounds good. My point I'm trying to make is that this decision should be ENTIRELY YOURS. My advice would be to listen to both sets with YOUR type of music (take a load of CD's to your local car stereo shop) before deciding, and I WOULD NOT take the advice of others (unless it deals with the quality of construction, which I don't believe is an issue here). Trust your ears. My $.02, MOSFET wrote in message ups.com... I do not care for bass much, I love clarity. |
