Default 4-Band vs. 5-band Parametric EQ

I noticed on the new Alpines that the lower units come with a 4-ban
Parametic EQ and the higher units come with a 5-band Parametic EQ..
understand that the higher units have one extra band [impaired] but
was wondering what does the extra band do and is it that important.

it's a band in a different freq. in the 4 band you'll have 1 sub, 1 low mid,
1 mid, 1 high. in the 5 band you'll have 1, sub, l low mid or "high sub", 1
mid, 1, high mid, 1 high. plus they sometimes have a better preamp or a
x-over or better x-over.
