One of my Infinity pair of speakers seems to have a lot more bass than the
other one (even if set at mono). I tried to push and feel the cone of the
one with less bass if it is restricted but they both seem to have the same
play. I wonder what went wrong with one of the speakers. What else to I
check?

Before you decide there is a problem with a speaker, swap them over
(their positions, not the connections) and see if the difference swaps
sides with them. It is quite possibly room modes you are hearing.

Also, damaged or poorly terminated speaker wire can produce this
effect as well.
