Integrating my MP3 player
Hi all,
I'm nowhere near skilled in this area but I thought I would give this a whirl. I have a Sony CDX-F5500 head unit that I wanted to hook up to my mp3 player rather than get a CD changer. I thought I could just get a stereo RCA plugs that terminate in a 1/8" mini plug that I could just plug into my headphone jack and I would be golden. Of course I plugged the RCA jacks to where you would normally plug in the changer on the head unit. I guess the idea was too good to be true as there was no joy in trying to select the CD changer source. Anyone know what I may be missing here or am I barking up the wrong tree with this idea? Thanks. Wemic |

Integrating my MP3 player
Yeah, Sony is becoming more and more on my most hated list. They make
this proprietary crap which is not like a typical "aux input". Do a search for XA-300 and you will see the device you need. Prices will vary. I do believe some kind of FM modulator that tunes into the radio station might work but have not tried that. |

Thanks. I tried the FM modulator route but the reception is really
sketchy and I have having to hunt for a station and switch the selector on the modulator. Talk about distracting when driving! |
