6 speaker wiring impedence question - how to calculate?
Hi,
I am thinking of building a speaker system that has six 8 ohm midrange- woofers and six 8 ohm planar-ribbon tweeters. If I wire the mid-woofers in pairs for 8ohm+8ohm in series = 16 ohms each pair, and then wire those three pairs in parallel, will my final impedance for all six mid-woofers = 5.33 ohms? IB |

6 speaker wiring impedence question - how to calculate?
Thanks. PS What will the summed mid-woofer inductance be? Each mid-
woofer is Le= .9mH IB On Nov 9, 1:30 pm, (Don Pearce) wrote: On Fri, 09 Nov 2007 13:21:18 -0800, " wrote: Hi, I am thinking of building a speaker system that has six 8 ohm midrange- woofers and six 8 ohm planar-ribbon tweeters. IB,
It'll be the same ratio. 2/3. The inductance will be 0.6 mH. Inductance works the same way resistance does for series-parallel hookups. Also inductive and capacitive reactance. Impedance too, for identical devices. Not capacitance though. I've top-posted, since your reply also was. -- Regards from Virginia Beach, Earl Kiosterud wrote in message oups.com... Thanks.
