Default ATP4

Somebody here asked about data on the ATP4 valve. It is funny that it
is seldom mentioned in most databooks and not much about it on the web
either, but look at this: www.tubecollector.org
It is a directly heated double pentode with the unusual mazda octal
socket that looks identical to an ordinary octal socket, but the valve
won't fit in anything but a mazda octal! These valves were widely used
in British WWII wireless sets. ATP4 was the output valve in the WS 18
set, a portable 6-9Mhz tranceiver with about 0.25W output. The valve
should be capable of much more than that.

Arnold
