16W vs. 18W Alpine?
Deciding between an Alpine CDM-9821 (16Wx4) and a CDM-9823 (18Wx4). Does
the 2 extra watts really make a difference? I don't need any preamp outputs... So is the extra $40 worth the "better clarity and more power"? This will be replacing the stock player in a '99 Civic plus I want the AUX to plug in my iPod. Thanks! |

Although the $40 may be worth it for some other features, but only you can decide that. Les |

The wattage difference isn't significant. The stock head unit and speakers are rated for about 16W. Why no line-out jacks? Get them. You'll get the urge to add an amplifier and better speakers sooner or later. A simple 60W x 4 amp under the seat and some quality speakers in the factory mounts makes a world of a difference. |
