hi,

i was wondering if anyone could help with some information on this
amplifier.i recently picked up a pr and cant find hardly any info on the
net.i would also appreciate any scans owners manuals ,schematic etc.the
schematic i have is for the newer one with 12au7's and ax7's instead of
the 6n7 ,6sl7 combination that i have.also does anyone have the
procedure for the adjustments of the controls on the front labeled
static balance and dynamic balance.any help would be greatly
appreicated.thanks in advance,

Posted via Mailgate.ORG Server -http://www.Mailgate.ORG Static Bal is basic D.C.balance.Just as it States it is the control used to set the actual bias operating point for the output tubes.Dynamic balance is a flashy way of saying A.C. balance or the equality of drive to the output grids or driver grids or whatever has been selected as the variable in this particular amp.Its a good amp.Be a little careful in troubleshooting these as if I remember corectly there are some 1 meg resistors across the output tube coupling caps and the slight dc this places on the grid may lead you to beleive you have a prob when you really don't.

These were made by Bigg of California, usually had a copper chassis.
There are several SAMS under Bigg in the index, the G50D is in
Photofact Servicer (the "book" version) 518... best Roger
