Bret's snide little post led to this. There is lots to see out there,
and the link below just scratches the surface. A simple google search
using "audio kits" will surprise you.

Also search under known kit names as well (Cary and so forth). If one
translates the $99 issue-cost of a Dynaco ST-70 to 2006 dollars, it
would come out at: $713.20 per the CPI. Not too far off from the
low-end kits of today... And equivalent Heath or Scott kits would be
much, much more.
