Default Kenwood KD-2055 Marble Base Turntable, Shure Cartridge,

Kenwood KD-2055 Marble Base Turntable, Shure Cartridge, $169

When Kenwood introduced the first faux marble base turntables they quickly
developed a cult-like following. Audiophiles would add super high end arms to
the models, especially the KD-500 which was sold without a tonearm. The faux
marble base creates a super stable acoustically "dead" foundation to enable the
cartridge to extract all the information found in the record groove. This
model, the KD-2055, is of this same design and period.

This is a belt drive table with an S-shaped tonearm. I installed a brand new
belt and also replaced the motor suspension grommets which had deteriorated
from age. A Shure M95ED cartridge with BRAND NEW stylus was installed. This is
a $50 value in itself. Table operates at 33 and 45 RPM speeds. There is a "cut"
control to end the play of a record, also auto return at the end of an album.
The dust cover is in decent shape with just normal use scratches. The hinges
are fine. There is a little tarnish on the aluminum control panels. With its
faux marble base this is quite a handsome turntable. I tested the new cartridge
stylus and it sounds great! One listen and you will understand why some
audiophiles believe you can't get any better sound than from an analog record.

When buying a table such as, after getting it you often end up having to
replace cartridges, stylus, belts or have it repaired adding a $100 or more to
your cost. Be assured on this one all that has already been done. Only $169
plus shipping (25lbs net, 35lbs gross)
