Default Would appreciate help with connection question

All the component connects are pretty easy. My question concerns the
power feeds. I have to run a fused power lead from the battery to the
trunk or the amp. No problem. But, I need a power lead for the graphic
equalizer, and a couple of other units. Can I branch off/tap into the
primary power feed to the amp, or do I need to run a separate power
feed for each unit?

You can branch it at the amp if you want, but your gonna need a power cable
with a large resistance to take power to all that. May have to consider a
second battery in the

Just run a large wire from the battery to the trunk, like 4 ga or 1/0
ga. Put a large fuse as close to the battery as you can to protect
the wiring. Once you get back to the trunk, use a fused distribution
block to provide the power leads for all the individual components.

Thanks, Scott. Some components, like LCD tv and port dvd player are
not in all the time; for trips cross country when I pull into a KOA
campground, etc. The RF Modulator has an on off switch for when the
video stuff is not hooked up. So, essentially, the power is more for
the graphic equalizer and the amp. Power to the CD changer in the
trunk is through the din cable. The power line which came with the amp
kit is an 8 gauge I'm pretty sure. The amp is 400w. The power to the
graphic equalizer apparently is for the led lights on the slide
controls. What I was looking at was running the power lead, which is
fused less than 12" from the battery, to the amp, and tap into it even
with the dash to run power to the radio and graphic equalizer. Only
the radio needs two power leads, and then there is a remote from the
graphic equalizer to the amp.

Hope this all makes sense. I have not messed with hooking up a stereo
system since I added one of those brand new on the market 8 Track
players back in 1970 so I could listen to Santana... LOL
