Anyone feel like giving me a track of vibra slap? :)
I have a song on an album I'm doing that needs a vibra slap (I think that's the
name.. a percussive thing that you hit against your palm and it makes sort of a rattle snake sound) hit right at the beginning. It's just one hit. I'll never use a vibra slap again, so I don't really want to buy one. I have no idea where to borrow or rent one. So if anyone has a sec that can record one hit of a vibra slap and email it to me as a wav. or mp3, I'd be much obliged. I'd put your name on the album and give you a copy, if that's any consulation. Thanks, |

Vibraslap - what a crutch.
In the old days we just had to learn to play castinets really really fast. Technology is ruining what once was the domain of musicianship. |

The band CAKE appears to have built their entire career around
continual vibraslapping (...insert risque play on words about CAKE's typical frat audience here...); otherwise I can't think of anyone else who uses that sound nowadays. --SC DeserTBoB wrote: On Sat, 04 Dec 2004 19:08:20 GMT, KyleSong wrote: Vibraslap - what a crutch. Hey there,
I recorded the Cake projects and since it was my Vibraslap, I can send you that one if you want.... Sounds fine on the record, but trying to recreate it for one of our shows through that pedal he carries around was less than completely satisfying. Lorin,
I did the majority of the previous three projects, but my only involvement with the current CD was three tracks that we had recorded earlier. I'm not sure which pitch shifted trumpet you are referring to.....it may have been one from the new project that I wasn't involved with. I'm going to assume that your statements are "tongue in cheek." If we limited studio creativity to only what could be reproduced live we would have severly limited creative evoloution over the past deacdes. No Bohemian Rhapsody, no later Beatles.....on the "up" side, maybe then no John Tesh........
