Newbe here, EXPERT HELP NEEDED.....Alpine Amp & HU Crossover Set-up???
I'm a car stereo newbe. I'm very good with a wrench, so I purchased
from Ebay & installed it myself. Alpine CDA-9827 HU, Alpine F450 amp, Blaupunkt Seperates F & R, Rockford 8" sub. The install went fine, everything powers up and functions properly. My question.......... the amp has Off/HP/LP & crossover adjustments from 50-400Hz for channels 1/4, it also has Subsonic Filter Off-15Hz-30Hz; Crossover 50-200Hz; & Bass Eq 0-+12db for the sub-channel 5 the HU offers "Bass Center Frequency" settings from 60-80-100-200Hz and "Treble Center Frequency" settings from 10.0-12.5-15.0-17.5kHz The speakers have passive crossovers at 3.5kHz w/12db slope I've never set up anything like this before! Where do I begin??? THANKS IN ADVANCE to the EXPERTS for ALL YOUR HELP!!!!!!! |

Alpine CDA-9827 HU, Alpine F450 amp, Blaupunkt Seperates F & R, Rockford 8" sub. The install went fine, everything powers up and functions properly. My question.......... the amp has Off/HP/LP & crossover adjustments from 50-400Hz for channels 1/4 Off turns off the internal crossover. HP is High Pass which means it blocks freqs.below the set point you choose. The set point range is 50-400Hz. So if you set it in between 50 to 400Hz, you'll be blocking signals at 225Hz and below. LP (Low PAss) Does the opposite. At the same setting above, it will block feqs. at 225Hz and above. , it also has Subsonic Filter Off-15Hz-30Hz; A subsonic filter is a High pass filter that is used to block very low freqs. 15Hz or 30 Hz. Crossover 50-200Hz; & Bass Eq 0-+12db for the sub-channel 5 The crossover is a crossover for the sub channel, and has bass eq. to compensate probably for any type of sub freqs that may be lost due to your cars interior. the HU offers "Bass Center Frequency" settings from 60-80-100-200Hz and "Treble Center Frequency" settings from 10.0-12.5-15.0-17.5kHz I'm not sure on the HU so I don't know if that is just the one frequency you choose then boost, or if the HU allows you to adjust those points seperatly. The speakers have passive crossovers at 3.5kHz w/12db slope I've never set up anything like this before! Where do I begin??? THANKS IN ADVANCE to the EXPERTS for ALL YOUR HELP!!!!!!! |
