a while ago i read this article:

it is about the waves plug ins using the pace copy protection, which didn´t
work that well in version 3. i tried to find info on whether or not version
4 is still using it but couldn´t find anything. so here´s the question: does
waves platinum bundle version 4 still use this or any other copy protection
which might cause problems?

Dunno, as I don't have Waves, but I know they did announce upcoming iLok
USB key support, which I expect is a huge improvement over their
challenge-response system.
