Otherwise, this will sell for your minimum bid. We've already seen this one before. Now stop spamming us with hard to look up parts of so-so quality. This is meant as cold but friendly advice. |

Dukane New Old Stock power transformer
Home constructors of tube equipment should SEVERELY derate power
transformers. Hi Brett, I disagree with your comment here, but maybe I'm looking at it from a different perspective. In my opinion, derating components is good advice to prevent someone who lacks knowledge from burning their house down, but it kills the price to performance advantage which home construction can offer. I wouldn't overload a transformer if it has excessive heating or voltage drop, but a bit can be tolerated most of the time. My logic is that since transformers are the most expensive components, it's best to let them be the limiting factor in an amplifier, rather than tubes, etc which are all cheaper. Some old transformers (ex-military for example) can be used in quite a bit excess of their ratings without a problem. |

You might make .45/lb as scrap, but if you want to sell a transformer, you have to tell your customers what they're about to get. Good Luck! Rich |

Rich It's all there if you want to load up a binary usenet group on your newreader and then grope around until you find it. He'll get the $9.99 opening bid for it. |
