SPL levels
I am trying to learn moreI am trying to learn more about microphone
specs. I am working on getting a better understanding of SPLs. Does anybody know of a web site or chart that list examples of different SPLs.? Example: a snare drum at 6 inches has a SPL of XXX. Or a Trombone has a average SPL between XXX and XXX. I understand that dynamic range can very greatly; I am just looking for some generalizations so I can get a better idea of what mics I can use on what instruments. Thanks, Ryan |

What you find is the loudness of a jack hammer, a siren or a jet plane, which make a steady and constant noise, often measured without telling us the distance, what is useless. Regards ebs |
