Eliminating a specified amount of time from the beginning of a WAV orMP3 file
Does anyone know of a freeware utility that will eliminate a specified
amount of time from the beginning of a WAV or MP3 file? Thanks, Jonathan |

I assume that WAV audio recorded in Sonar 8.5 is uncompressed and lossless, so I should able to do a trim operation in SoX without losing any resolution. Is this correct? Thanks, Jonathan |

There are some tools you can use to manipulate mp3 files directly also without losing resolution by decoding and re-encoding. However, if you trim mp3 files that way, it has to be done on particular block boundaries so your edits may not be exact. Those tools are very popular with the radio guys who often use compressed files on a big media server. --scott -- "C'est un Nagra. C'est suisse, et tres, tres precis." |
