Default need simple software for recording voice under XP

I need simple, cheap software for recording voice off the soundcard line-in
(basically an improved version of windows' sound recorder). no editing
necessary. any suggestions. already tried total recorder but it behaved
flaky and eventually crashed. thanks

Co-sign, on this and Audacity.

Features are even borderline on the pro side with Audacity.

I'll second that one.
