The fact is that Garland was a hugely popular and talented entertainer, and if you had any interest in the business as it is today, you might want to see what's gone on before. But I take it that doesn't apply to you. |

Which leads me to wonder who was the brilliant soloist (clarinet?) on the original "Over the Rainbow"? He (or she) MAKES that recording ... along with Judy of course. |

I have a very good friend who worked for Judy when she was 17, she's an
comp/arr. and at the time was being mentored by Peter Matz. She told me Judy had perfect pitch and played the piano quite well. Don't know if they related that in show. I'm simply saying that homosexuality appears to be a
prerequisite to thje enjoyment of Miss Garland. This will come as a shock, no doubt, but one's sexuality is in no way related to the enjoyment or non-enjoyment of Judy Garland. Enjoyment of music & the performance of it is a prerequisite to 'getting' Judy Garland. Scott Fraser |

I'm simply saying that homosexuality appears
to be a prerequisite to the enjoyment of Miss Garland. Um..... it isn't. I'm a straight male, never had a homosexual relationship, never wanted one. But I'm a huge Garland fan. She was an awesome singer and entertainer; a true artist. In the same league as Elvis, Sinatra, and Patsy Cline. It's true that during her lifetime (especially in her later years) she seemed to have more than her share of fans who were gay males. For the life of me, I don't understand why that happened to be the case. But that wasn't always true, and it's even less true today. Most of her fans today seem to be from all age groups, lifestyles, and genders. I'm not scaered of gay people, they pose no threat to me or my worldview. I even support gay marriage. How is it homophobic to say that most Garland fans are gay? I attatched no value judgement to that. You're just looking for ammo to support your weak point that Garland should be important to everyone who is interested in music. Jesus, what is it with some gay people? Queso -- ha |

If you think blasphemy against the church of the Subgenius is not part of the Church of the Subgenius - you are A PINKBOY. Tell ya what - why doncha email Ivan Stang and tell him El Queso is blaspheming. Silly little tube, my band was voted best Doktorband (Subgenius band for you non-initiates) in 2002 at X-day in Brushwood. We have been on the Subgenius Hour of Slack nearly a hundred times, and HOS 929 is a El Queso special. I'm so tight with "BOB" that I could kill him again and again. I've been down with Dobbs since 1985. You are obviously just a full-blooded human pink, and have no concept of what Yetisyn do or are. Obviously you haven't absorbed the message of Dobbs in the slightest. Absorbed, digested, and shat out for your consumption. Lemme guess - you've not even read the Book of the SubG or Revelation X and you're gonna lecture me on Dobbs... Kinda like a Rastafarian lecturing a Jesuit scholar on Catholicism. You're an anal ventriloquist. Go back to school. Tell me once you've been to Dobbstown in Malaysia. THEN we can talk about school. Only a total pinkboy would think that school could equal SLACK.
