Default 98 jeep wrangler tj

I have a '98 Jeep Wrangler and I am looking to replace
the stock 4x6 speakers in the dash because I blew them. I ordered a
pair of Pioneer TS-A4670R's for it, which are 4x6", but I haven't
ordered the adapter plate yet. I was wondering if a pair of 6x9" or
6x8" would fit judging from the space between the studs the speakers
are screwed to. Please help with any advice.

You could look into something like this:

http://www.offroadtoystore.com/Merch...t_Code=33-5100

Not the 6x9/6x8's you were looking for but 5 1/4 non the less.
