Hi, I have recorded our band on 8 tracks using BR-8 digital recorder
and ACID PRO. I need to mix it down and was wondering if anyone could
give me some guidance? i.e. i don't want all the tracks to sound so
independant on playback - more gelled together if you know what i
mean.

theres no real easy answer for this. just spend time mixing and
learning - mix down different versions of your work and burn it to a
cdr and listen to it on different stereos - anything you can to learn
how your mixes are translating. read anything you can on mixing
techniques - i know this probably isn't the help your looking for, but
it's the only honest answer i have to offer.
