Default Marantz DD-82 DCC

The "thin-film" heads of DCC decks are not well suited for analogue playback
The backward compatibility is "functional" but nowhere did it say it'd sound
as good as a bona fide analogue deck. You'll have to keep an old analogue
deck at hand.

As far as I recall all DCC players were backwards compatible. Mostly they
did not do analogue replay well..the ones I heard anyway. Its some years
ago but I've heard the DD-82 playback of cassette tapes and was not
impressed by the sound quality. Digitally though it seemed okay for that
time.

I hope someone can help: I am trying to establish whether a Marantz
DD-82 DCC will play analogue tapes. From everything I can read about
DCC it seems it should, but I cannot find specific information about
the DD-82.

If someone owns one and could e-mail me privately, I would be very
grateful.

Many thanks,
Richard
