Lennon's mic on "Let it be" cover?
OK, this is purely trivial :-)
I can't recognize the mic that's visable in Lennon's picture on the "Let it be" album cover. Anyone know? Pete. |

Lennon's mic on "Let it be" cover?
Cyberserf wrote: It was appearantly an unobtrusive Neumann KM84i (typically used in TV), which features a small capsule on the end of an extension tube, with the mic's preamp located at the bottom near the floor (also visible in some of the Rooftop concert footage). Regards, CS Ah, thanks a lot. The KM84's I've seen don't have the longitudinal thin ports or the basket, so I discounted it. This is an older incarnation then? |

I don't have the album cover in front of me, and it's been years since I saw it, but could it perhaps be a Sennheiser 431? --scott -- "C'est un Nagra. C'est suisse, et tres, tres precis." |

On the front he's singing into some sort of ball-end mic, but he's singing into the side. No idea what that one is. Inside he's singing into something with a long, skinny foam sock on it, and that could be the Sennheiser Scott's referring to. On the rooftop, however, both John and Paul are singing into condenser mics with long extension tubes between the capsule and the amplifier. The mic bodies look too long for KM80-series, though; I'd guess AKG C451 or perhaps C60. Peace, Paul |

It's an AKG C28-A or B (tube)
