Default How good are AKG Mic's

I am looking for one or two decent mics for a home studio setup. I
plan on using them for a mixture of vocals and micing a acoustic
guitar. Are the D8000 S mics any good as compared to say a Shure SM 57
or 58 or better? I have heard that Akg makes greate headphones, how
about mics?

They make very good mics as does Shure. The questio is which one do you
prefer? Consider that mics do what speakers do in reverse. They have their
own unique characteristics, so you need to try some and see what the results
are and do they please your ears.
