About Behringer
Awhile back there were a couple of threads about Behringer and it's
pratices. I'v mentioned a few times that I was in the process of purchasing a Carvin PA and a Behringer mixer. The 2442FX arrived yesterday. When I ordered it from MF they asked if I wanted to purchase thier extended warrenty coverage because, sometimes, You cant return a product to the manufacturer without first getting in touch with the reseller. I got the extrat coverage. Turned out to be a good move because they state plainly in thier docs that you should try to return it where you bought it before trying yto get Behringer to fix the problem. All that makes sense to me. I mean not every problem is the responsibility of the manufacturer and they can use the store that sold it to weed out the petty problems and send only the equipment that needs manufacturer attention. My PA will be here next week. Hopefully before the holiday. Now I have to find a good source for a ass load of patch cables. I don't have but a few mic cables and my one guitar cable, so I'm in a fix to get to know the four sub groups and how to work all of the sends and returns. I will be using this piece of equipment for the recording studio mainly, with a few talent shows and community events that folks can plug into and preform, thrown in. Does anyone have a bunch of patch cables, snakes and cords they have little need or value for? Got a reasonable price in mind for them? (remember I aint one of those rich kids- just a dirt poor peasant with a gift). Dunno how contract law works where you are, but here in the UK, if I buy something from a dealer, my contract is with that dealer. I have no contract with the manufacturer (the dealer does). Dunno how contract law works where you are, but here in the UK, if I buy something from a dealer, my contract is with that dealer. I have no contract with the manufacturer (the dealer does). So if something is wrong with the item I have bought, I go back to the dealer I bought it from. Yet there are still a few of us left in the world that belive a company which has utmost confidence in it's product AND service is one to do business with. I do not mean to say that Behringer is not an admirable company with solid ethics and busines pratices. I'm just saying it aint the same as the old days, when you shook a man's hand and looked him in the eye before passing cash, I guess. Anyway you missed the point of the post. Got a garbage bag of TS or TRS cables and ends you want to send if I cover the postage? Oh never mind you are way over there and the package would have duties and all that added to the shipping cost g |

Not sure where you live, but in the US my practice is to return to vendor if an item is broken upon arrival; after I've used it then the warranty is with the manufacturer. The only piece of Berhinger equipment I've ever had break, a little six channel mixer that lost phantom power after about a year, the company was great about dealing with. My email inquiry was responded to in less than 24 hours, an RMA issued, and they sent me a new (and better model) mixer within a week. It was actually one of the better customer services experiences I've had in quite some time, and more than I expected from a budget gear line. -kiwanda |
