Default bew solution for old problem- singing pianist

I have a singing pianist who I want to record while playing the piano. I've
used keeping the lid shut and covered with blankets, but I want to keep the
lid open, at full stick or even off. I've heard of building a "box" or some
such structure that fits over the piano between the vocal mic and the
strings. I don't know if this was open or closed top.

I am looking for suggestions- particularly mechanical, such as the "box"-
for keep a reasonable amount of bleed out of the vocal mic. Thanks.
