On Ebay: a truly stunning recording studio guitar amplifier!
This amp has been re-listed after Ebay removed the original listing for
completely ridiculous reasons. (See the Special Note at the top of the listing for explanation.) This amp is truly a thing of both visual and sonic beauty. This is a great live amp, but I'm listing it here because I know there are some very tasteful studio owners who might be interested. When played clean, this amp has a glistening, full-bodied sound. When overdriven, it's ferocious. Put a Royer or AEA ribbon mic in front of it at about 10-12" and you're in heaven. Check it out. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=3768466412 --- Chad |

This amp has been re-listed after Ebay removed the original listing for

Well for similar reasons, I suggest you google a few things after the auction ends with no bids: "It is a lot more resonant than the tolex that the amp came with." Google "resonance" and "tolex" Hint: resonance is generally bad, and tolex has nothing to do with it. "The preamp tubes are new Sovtek 12AX7s. I have found these to work best, but I also really liked the new Groove Tubes 12AX7M Mullard reissue." Use groups.google.com and specify this group and rec.audio.tubes, keywords "sovtek" and "groove tubes". After reading some of those posts it might become clear that the term "mullard reissue" is considered a farce among those that would consider buying the amp. I don't imply that the amp isn't worth what you ask, but those contradictions will undermine your credibility and kill any chance of getting top dollar. If you're going to stretch the truth, say it sounds like a vintage tweed bassman, they're in far higher demand than twins, and rightly so. |

The Allen amps are often bought in kit form, they generally emulate
blackface Fender circuits. http://www.allenamps.com That amp is definitely overpriced IMO, even with the fancy wood exterior.
