Great Bach records
Joe Duffy a scris: In article , Harry Lavo wrote: All this talk of Bach got my juices flowing, and as chance would have it I had a free afternoon today, so I pulled out my old Reel-to-Reel recording of E. Power Biggs playing the six Bach Trio Sonatas on his pedal harpsichord. I'm not a big Biggs fan in general, but when he plays Bach straight he's okay, and these are pretty nice performances. It occurred to me about half Fantastic! Oh man, now you got me going on live organ music. Nothing like the Prelude and Fugue in C Major live. I sure miss that Flentrop organ at St. Mark's in Seattle. Nothing like the majesty of the organ in an enormous cathedral. Where Bach shined best, apart from his Mass in B Minor and St. Matthew's Passion. Joe I always liked T%he Majesty of the Luneburg Organ Professor Schnsider now I have on lp AN ereel to reel,. |
