Liney,

I hope you had the pleasure of a California Chardonnay with your
Thanksgiving turkey, assuming you celebrated the holiday since your
country has copied so much of our culture.

Our dinner was particularly special with the holiday music playing
through our Bose LifeStyle 50 system!

Look Phillips, you don't post here daily or anything like it. Whole weeks,
even fortnights go by without you posting here. So you can't be talking
about you making me "look stupid on an almost daily basis".

Nahh, Phillips this is just another one of your fantasies, pedophile or
otherwise. For example, google shows no posts from you for Oct 5 through Oct
19 just to pick of your more recent periods of incarceration or other kind
of Usenet incapacitation.

That would be another fantasy of yours. In the real world, that's when my

Let's compare that to you, posting here on RAO on the day of your son's

Why would you demand proof of such a mundane claim? It's not
as if he's claiming he was off touring with the Rolling Stones or

Looks like you're homing in on the source of the nonsensical "prove it!"
challenges, at least on RAO.

Arnii the Kroo**** uses Kroo-Logic, a close cousin of the fractured
version of human language he uses (Krooglish). It sort of goes like this
(remember, I am human, so no guarantees of accuracy): A human says
something, but does not "prove" it. Therefore, according to the tenets
of Kroo-Logic, the statement is not "true", which means it is "false",
which means any other possible alternative that pops into Mr. ****'s
head is just as likely to be true. Corollarily, the more fear Mr. ****
has of the human in question, the more likely an especially nasty
alternative is to be "true".

This is a foundation of "the debating trade". Mr. **** imagines that his
activities on Usenet (principally consisting of lies, paranoid
imaginings, more lies, frequent unwarranted personal attacks, and still
more lies) constitute a "trade" that will one day remunerate him.

I've appreciated your help on technical issues here, but where

How dare you question Turdborg while he's in the throes of a "debating
trade" spasm. For that, you've just made Kroo****'s enemies list.

Exactly, Scott, and thank you for your sentiments. Just to give you an idea of
how Arny thinks, if I did supply an obituary, there is no way I could link it
to myself. Arny would merely say, "Where is the proof that this is your
mother-in-law?"

In other words, it would go on and on. This is the length that Arny goes to to
avoid accountability for his words and actions. This is how far Arny goes in
order to avoid admitting he is wrong. This is how far Arny goes in order to
avoid getting caught lying. It's very easy to prove Arny's lies, but it's
impossible to get him to concede. I just caught Arny in about five lies in the
last day, and this is how desperate he is to avoid concession...he wants to see
an obituary! I'm sure he'll want a death certificate next. Can you see me
asking my wife's family, still grieving, for that, just to prove some that some
idiot on the Internet is lying? Of course not! And Arny knows this. There is
never any proof definitive enough for Arny, and he will never have to admit he
is wrong.

It's very sad, but so it is for the life of an Internet geek such as Arny.

Something about Marc's long history of telling convenient, dramatic lies.

It's not
as if he's claiming he was off touring with the Rolling Stones or

There's a long history of disputes between Marc and I. Scott, do you often
go around and jump into disputes involving other people?

So Scott, there was something about Marc's claim that he just "kicked my
ass" that you didn't notice?

I've appreciated your help on technical issues here, but where

Notice what Marc tries to turn this "fact" into:

IOW, because Marc had to clean up a lot of messes in his wife's family when
his mother died, it somehow reflects on what I did when my son died, some 5
years ago. Hint: our family worked together to resolve a lot of issues so
they all didn't require my 24/7 personal attention.

Actually, Mr. Gardner's situation has shed some light on something that has
been quite obvious for a while. It was difficult and shocking for him to see
Arny act this way, especially since he had been "helpful" on some technical
information in the past. This may go some ways in explaining why people such
as McKelvy or Paul Wagner or any other Kroopologist defend Arny so
vehemently...Arny got 'em a deal on some sort of computer hardware.
It's kind of difficult to condemn someone for being a lying, hypocritical
pedophile when they just got you a killer deal on something. I'm sure Arny
didn't even have to be explicit about repaying the favor on RAO. Mr. Gardner,
it appears, is too smart to fall for Arny's "helpfulness." Many are not.

In fact Marc, obituaries often contain the names of sons & daughters in-law.

So, I guess you have to invent another lie to cover your tracks.

Exactly, Scott, and thank you for your sentiments. Just to give you

proof that this is your mother-in-law?"

In fact Marc, obituaries often contain the names of sons & daughters in-law.

Often, but not always.

So, I guess you have to invent another lie to cover your tracks.

In your fantasy world, yes. In the real world, if your clergyman saw this
thread, he would ask you to leave his church.

How dare you question Turdborg while he's in the throes of a "debating

Actually, Mr. Gardner's situation has shed some light on something that has
been quite obvious for a while. It was difficult and shocking for him to see
Arny act this way, especially since he had been "helpful" on some technical
information in the past. This may go some ways in explaining why people such
as McKelvy or Paul Wagner or any other Kroopologist defend Arny so
vehemently...Arny got 'em a deal on some sort of computer hardware.
It's kind of difficult to condemn someone for being a lying, hypocritical

Just wanted to say I'm not choosing sides in this train wreck
of a newsgroup. I've been staying out of most of the threads up to
this point. I only made the comment I did because Krueger's request
for an obituary came so soon after the thread I started about the
foolishness of "proof" on Usenet. It was such a glaring example of
what I've experienced all over Usenet that I jumped in.
Since the concept of "proof" in so untenable on Usenet, I try
to take everything with a grain of salt. Arny's been helpful in
explaining some technical concepts to me, and I thanked him for it.
He made what I think anyone would consider a wildly unreasonable
request of Marc, so I commented on that as well.
I don't have any vested interest in anyone's cause here - and
that's how I like it.

I totally respect that, Scott. The mess you're looking at is at least five
years in the making, and I wouldn't want anyone to jump in the middle of it
without knowing at least some of the history. I know, for instance, that you
objected to my bringing up the fact that Arny posted on RAO the day of his
son's funeral. But you should also know that I strenuously objected, both on
RAO and in private e-mails, against people bringing up Nate's death on RAO, for
a long time. Arny, however, twisted my objections into "making horrific
comments about the death of my son." I know you really don't care to know
about this, but it's important that newbies know what kind of person Arny is
before they blindly accept his advice about audio.

Arny is routinely destroyed by real engineers who come in here to see what's
going on. What they find is an Internet geek of questionable experience trying
to pass himself off as an audio expert. They take offense to what Arny is
doing, and he, in turn, calls them liars without proof, and tries to discredit
them. An unknowing newbie might think that because he is so brazen in his
attacks, that he might be right. In reality, the real engineers are so
disgusted with his behavior that they leave RAO forever.

So be careful about Arny's "helpful" advice.

Happy Thanksgiving, Jim! Today I'm thankful I'm not Arny.

Yup, growing a brain can be a painful experience.

As opposed to already having one and using it to make you look
stupid on an almost daily basis, yes.

Look Phillips, you don't post here daily or anything like it. Whole
weeks, even fortnights go by without you posting here. So you can't
be talking about you making me "look stupid on an almost daily
basis".

I see. You're just trying to salvage whatever's left of your
credibility after I kicked your ass, so I'll give you that one.
Instead, I shall say "As opposed to already having one and using it
to make you look stupid over the last five years."

Nahh, Phillips this is just another one of your fantasies, pedophile
or otherwise. For example, google shows no posts from you for Oct 5
through Oct 19 just to pick of your more recent periods of
incarceration or other kind of Usenet incapacitation.

That would be another fantasy of yours. In the real world, that's
when my mother-in-law died, and I had a lot of things to take care of
for my wife's family. In fact, I took a week off of work to do so.

Why don't you point us at an obituary that proves your claim, Phillips.

Let's compare that to you, posting here on RAO on the day of your
son's funeral.

The bottom line Phillips is that some of us have minds big enough to

handle
more than one thing at a time, and some of us don't. If you grew yours a
lot, you'd be able to understand what I mean by this.

That response made you look even worse than you already look.
I didn't think that it would be possible.

Fortunately, there are many others posting on RAO, e.g. Glenn Zelniker, John
Atkinson, Goofball, etc., who appear ready and able to dispense technical
advice when asked without using it as an excuse to engage in a paranoid set of
unprovoked personal insults. Therefore, technical help (if needed or wanted)
can certainly be had with no strings attached.

Why would you demand proof of such a mundane claim? It's not
as if he's claiming he was off touring with the Rolling Stones or
climbing Mt. Everest. And what's the big deal about him not posting
for a two-week period, anyway? I once went SIX WHOLE MONTHS without
posting anything on Usenet, while I was on an aircraft carrier in the
middle of the Persian Gulf. Meanwhile, Marc goes away for two weeks,
and you're assuming incarceration??

Exactly, Scott, and thank you for your sentiments. Just to give you an

idea of
how Arny thinks, if I did supply an obituary, there is no way I could link

it
to myself. Arny would merely say, "Where is the proof that this is your
mother-in-law?"

In other words, it would go on and on. This is the length that Arny goes

to to
avoid accountability for his words and actions. This is how far Arny goes

in
order to avoid admitting he is wrong. This is how far Arny goes in order

to
avoid getting caught lying. It's very easy to prove Arny's lies, but it's
impossible to get him to concede. I just caught Arny in about five lies

in the
last day, and this is how desperate he is to avoid concession...he wants

to see
an obituary! I'm sure he'll want a death certificate next. Can you see

me
asking my wife's family, still grieving, for that, just to prove some that

some
idiot on the Internet is lying? Of course not! And Arny knows this.

There is
never any proof definitive enough for Arny, and he will never have to

admit he
is wrong.

This is why i will not divulge any persoal information to Arny.

There aren't enough hours in the day for me to "skewer you
every chance I get". In fact, other than the topic of "proof" on
Usenet, what have I said to or about you that you find objectionable?
Most of our communication so far has been regarding what sampling rate
to use for transferring LPs to computer files, and your explanation of
the Nyquist theorem. I thought both of those discussions were civil
and productive.
Also, I'm hardly "assisting your enemies". My interactions
with other people on this newsgroup are not colored by how I or they
feel about you, Arny. Sockpuppet Yustabe appears to be one of your
"enemies", and he and I disagree pretty strongly on what constitutes a
"textbook". That doesn't mean that I like him or don't like him, and
it *certainly* doesn't mean that I like or dislike you by extension.
It's not all about namecalling, cliques and who can sit with whom in
the cafeteria.
