I loved that mag.
Anybody else?

In its earlier incarnation as "Audio Engineering" and for a few years
thereafter it was a good magazine. I think the same poo-poo heads that
put out "Flying" magazine-and allowed cocksuckers like Collins and
J.Mac to **** all over the personal aviation world for the ass-kissing
of four-page-spread ad buyers with 67000 zip codes-got hold of it and
turned it into mostly crap. Although to the end they did run at least
one construction article a year, I think the last was Norman Thagard's
tweak of Nelson Pass' A75, which is a fine sounding amplifier by any
standard.

I don't have the magazines, but I have the Old Colony
Audio Engineering reprints from the days of Norman Crowhurst.

Good stuff!

OCSL/AudioXPress has the Anthologies and they are well worth reading.
I think Audio became totally consumoized in the late sixties, when
people with the mentality of the Ferstlers and Kruegers took over.

I like your sig block. Ferstler will regret that little 'bon mot' for
a long time...

I was a subsriber until the end.
I had subscriptions to all of the mags except TAS, which isn't fit for
a bird cage.

So did I, kind of. Actually, Dave Weinberg and I once had an
article published in it.

The problem with the magazine is that some of the time it
was on the mark and technical as hell (although sometimes
that technical stuff was a bit over the top), and at other
times it printed borderline tweako junk.

What do you know that the rest of us don't, Clerkie? This calcerise fellow

Brother Horace drops a hint at how he wants to alleviate his pain.

Yeah, my take on it is that audio is going to pot.

How much are you offering, and for what quantity?

I used to love the reviews of equipment from the Lirpa company.
They always made the best audio gear. The turntable with the
wireless "car" that drives around the record was priceless.

In the past, items such as Shakti Stones, Bedini Clarifiers, Shun Mook
Mping discs, "cable cookers", high $ power cords, "tuning dots", etc.,
could have easily been featured in an April issue of Audio as Lirpa
Labs products and a good laugh would have been had by the reader before
moving on to the real content. Now, such products are favorably
"reviewed" by Stereophile and even appear on the RCL! :-(

Yes, I remember Audio. I remember reading them
back then in the mid '90s when I decided to assemble
an affordable hi-fi audio for the first time. I recall going
to libraries then and sit in the corner to read their current
issue. Libraries then also usually had the previous 10
issues or more so sometimes I borrowed them for three
weeks and take them home. One time I went to the library
and I saw a whole stack of them about 2 foot high just sitting
on the pavement outside the main entrance. They were
marked 'Discarded.'

So I went inside and walk towards the front desk and ask to
see if I can have them instead. The libarary clerk told me,
"No, you cannot have 'em. I am selling them for 25 cent each."
But they're old, I said. "So what" he replied, "... they're still good."
But then I told him that they were already marked 'discarded' so
they're good to go. He then said, "... Ok, I'll sell them to you
for 5 cent each." "For 5 cent each, it would be about 3
dollars, right?," I asked. He replied, " No, it would be $3.35."

So I paid him and went outside to put the magazine stack
in my car. I counted them later after I got home and there were
exactly 67 magazines.

I still have them in the box. Are you looking for any particular
issue?

**Because I'm moving house, I've decided to severely cull my magazine
collection. My old Audio issues are not going in the dumper. Too much good
stuff therein.

Or over the borderline, as in just about anything in Audio
