Conversation Topic: Frequency Ranges
After reading several posts over the last year or so I still am a bit
confused as to what frequencies should be considered sub-bass, mid-bass, midrange, and high frequencies. I thought it would be interesting to get some opinions from everyone into one post. I have personally always considered 80Hz and below to be sub-bass but I know people who believe that 80 to 51Hz should be considered mid-bass. Please share your thoughts so that the more ignorant of us may be enlightened. |

Obviously, there's no set rule. But I'd consider anywhere between about
80Hz and 200 Hz to substantially contribute to midbass. Obviously, there's no set rule. But I'd consider anywhere between about
80Hz and 200 Hz to substantially contribute to midbass. I completely agree, and I tend to use the terms mid-bass and sub-bass when talking about SPEAKERS, not frequencies. I think what counts is that we all have a general idea of which is which so that when I talk about installing mid-bass speakers in my door, you all know what I am talking about. MOSFET |
