Default Quick question for Sonar users...

When I installed Sonar 6, audio driver bit depth (in Audio Options) was set
to 32 bits.

However, my Gina3G card can only do 24b; which is probably why, at the
bottom of all my projects (in the status bar), next to the available disk
space and CPU usage, I see : 44.1khz, 24-bit.

Am I just needlessly slowing down my CPU by leaving Sonar's audio bit depth
at 32 instead of 24?

No, you would probably slow down your CPU if you changed it to 24 bits since
your processor works at 32 bits anyway.

Don't bother..

You do know that there's a whole contingent of people over in the Cakewalk
group that have lowered their bit depths because it's supposed to *lighten"
the load on their computers?

I don't know what advice to listen to! :-S

Don't listen to anyone. Get an application that will actually let you
see percentage of CPU usage and watch it.

Exactly. Sonar even has its own CPU indicator for that.
